DESCRIPTION:The tenth annual From the Earth is a free event that celebrates rural living. A large variety of presentations and activities at six locations around Alfred\, NY will include popular favorites like the bird walk at Foster Lake\, gardens and garden talks\, a timber framing shop\, pottery display in a sugar shed\, and an organic dairy farm. Every year new ideas are presented. Come and learn how to turn a wooden bowl\, make Swiss cheese\, or how to braid a rag rug. The Southern Tier Fiber Arts Guild will be doing demonstrations. Kids activities at the Alfred State Farm Garden will include story telling and how to make unique up-cycled planters.
