The auction preview is Friday, December 1 at 6PM with the consignment auction beginning at 7PM. The Show will be Saturday, December 2, from 9AM to 2PM. Refreshments are available. “Our Boy Scouts work with our adult leaders to make this weekend such a success every year. Our Boy Scouts help set up, serve concessions, bring items to the auctioneer, and everything in between. Our Scouts make this event happen,” says Chris Lawrence, current Geneseo Scoutmaster. “The event has a large following. Our vendors and collectors come from New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Ontario, Quebec, New Hampshire and North Dakota,” said Harke, whose three grown sons were members of Troop 4070. Harke himself prepared and donated this year’s door prize, a 1965 Massey-Ferguson 175 tractor with loader. A COMMUNITY EVENT Geneseo Kiwanis provides tables for the vendors. Several SUNY Geneseo organizations set up and take down the tables for the event. Dann Auctioneers of Canandaigua will headline the auction Friday night, continuing a family tradition of over 20 years of service at the Farm Toy Auction. The event typically sees over 1200 people over two days. Dr. Steve Wiener has managed the concessions for the past 31 years and will be on duty again this year.
