The celebration this year will be like no other, the community has embraced Glory Day with enthusiasm and historic reverence. Main Street will be lined with balloons, bring your chairs for the Bellamy parade (and bags for the candy) and make sure to visit the animals at the petting zoo (you can even ride a pony!) Main Street, Mount Morris will be lined with a variety of vendors including arts & crafts! Take a stroll in the local shops decked out in red, white and Blue. Mount Morris Central School is hosting a Fun Run, Student Art Show, and Art-in-the-Park Chalking Event with prizes. Feel like exploring and learning about our local history? Mills Mansion is hosting tours and a birthday party for Francis Bellamy. And take a peek into our many antique shops for Mount Morris vintage pieces. We welcome fellow foodies to come sample some unique flavors – homemade pasta, ice cream and some amazing burgers.
A tribute to our incredible array of past historical residents include, Francis Bellamy, author of the Pledge of Allegiance, Ross Barnes, early star of the National Baseball League, Sarah Bradford, famous writer, and John Wesley Powell, a geologist and explorer.
Historical or Patriotic, take us back in time or stun us with your red, white and blue! Glory Day Fest is proud to say our local businesses, residents and not-for-profits have really made this event grow and take off. Follow the Parade down to Bellamy Park and enjoy games for the Kids, pony rides, music and great food. To celebrate our community we have one final event sure to bring smiles to everyone, bring your chairs, listen to some music and watch the fireworks display at Bellamy Park!
